TrailLife Troop 514

Outdoor Adventure, Christian Formation, and Leadership Development

Trail Life USA is the premier national character development organization for young men which produces Godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens. Our mission is to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.

Trail Life USA is best understood as the full integration of Christian formation with the traditional methods of a scouting program, including outdoor adventure (camping, hiking, canoeing, etc.), the patrol system, leadership development, advancement, and uniforms.

Youth membership in Trail Life USA is open to boys ages 5-18, irrespective of religion, race, national origin, or socioeconomic status.  At Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, our Trail Life troop has an authentically Catholic identity. The Christian formation of our members focuses on the ultimate goal of the Christian life - to become a saint! In Trail Life USA, our members embark on this journey of becoming ordinary saints within a fun-filled outdoor program set among the richness and beauty of God's creation.

We hope to allow our boys to encounter the Lord through:

  • Prayer and The Sacraments

  • Moral Virtue - including heroic example from the Saints

  • Service - with emphasis on the corporal works of mercy

  • Catechesis - learning the Catholic Faith

  • Evangelization - sharing the Faith

  • Vocation - listening for God's call
